This may be too obvious for this discussion. But if you don't have it you gotta get Band of Gypsys. Machine Gun is arguably the greatest recording of electric guitar ever. It also has Them Changes for a Santana reference. And as far as studio albums go, Electric Ladyland, for my money, captured Jimi in the studio in so many moods from straight up blues, to swinging jazz, and all the fire, passion and genuine emotion you could ever want in a guitar player.
