Human beings are so caught up in the idea that we are the ish that we make up these B.S. ideas about life after death. It's not enough that we have this one life to live. Instead, we, being the greedy bastards that we are, want even more after this life.
Can you honestly tell yourself that life eternal rests in the hands of one human shaped God that only concerns Itself with the crap that happens on earth? It doesn't even do a good job at watching over It's so called believers. I guess if you look at everything It does as neccessary or whatever, it's an ok job. Because afterall, it's not our place to question the all powerful, invisible force that It is.
But whatever. The truth is, people who believe that they have some kind of ultimate spirit form that is waiting to burst free from their physical, real body upon death, are just delusional, greedy, power hungry people that need to wake up.
Dude, the earth is small. In comparison to the universe and all the planets we know of today, we ain't shit. Sorry. But that is the truth.
I don't totally dismiss the idea of something greater out there. I only dismiss any human trying to tell me about what It is. People don't have a freaking clue what the hell they're talking about when it comes to invisible, magical, forces. I can prove that. Bring me someone who thinks they have a direct line to their God, and I'll show them that they don't know shit. NOBODY has a direct line to their God because NOBODY can ask their God to appear, speak, or do anything upon request. I don't want to get into the whole, thou shall not test thy God B.S. and crap because that is just an excuse people made up to cover for the no show that is your God(s).
You think it's ok to teach young children to watch out for mr invisible boogeyman satan? You think that's right? You're freaking crazy. You want to know why I'm so hateful of religion and all the B.S. teachings of God and the devil and the jumping ravioli monster? Because now my daughter is being taught to be afraid. And for what? Why? That shit is no more real than cupid, or santa claus, or anyother man made myth. And now you want to poison the mind of my child with that B.S.? THAT, my friend, is what TRUE EVIL is about. Poisoning and brainwashing the minds of our youth with a bunch of lies and fairytales.
Ultimately, it boils down to this. When you have a problem that is out of your hands, you look up into the sky or your ceiling or your eyelids and talk to yourself for answers. You just keep telling yourself that God is reading your brainwaves and all that good magical stuff, bro. It's too bad that we live in a science based world. Because maybe somewhere in the universe, there's a planet that runs off of magic.
