Your assumptions of my beliefs are not the most accurate. Granted, Mormons are supposedly "different" Christians as classed by the vast majority of Christianity, if classed as Christians at all. I believe that God has flesh. To put it simply, he is an exalted man. Weird, many will say, but I believe it. Can I hear him audibly? I have. I don't always, but anyone can. I may be delusional but if I am, so what? You had asked, "Why can't people just accept the fact that we have one life to live and be at peace?" Fact of the matter is, you can't prove that it's fact (the supposed fact that we only have one life), just as I can't prove that I heard a voice. You innately believe that there is no after-life, but that is something that science cannot prove. If I understand you correctly, anyone who has a belief in an after-life is a slave? How do you get to that extreme? Why does every religious person have to be labeled "close-minded?" There is no polarity in these cases. The thing that I am driving at is: you have no greater piece of mind than a religious person. You have no better answers than someone that has hope for an afterlife. You are no more free than someone "chained down by religion." I am very religious, albeit that I am not perfect. I consider myself a very open minded person, a logical thinker, and, dare I say, educated. I never claim to know everything, but that is why I continue to learn. So once again, I think we'll leave it at I'll keep going in the direction that I am headed, and you go on with yours...and if anything, we'll see what happens...or not if you are right. Have a good one, you and your family.
