Who gave you or your teachers the authority to exclude James from the NT cannon?

I believe FW put it best, James was never a follower of Christ when Christ was alive. James disowned his brother for teaching a different covenant (the law of faith in himself). If you can take the book of James out of the bible, then i can do the same with the book or Ruth. Afterall, it hardly mentiones God at all in it.
