This doesn't mean we can or should sit by the wayside because we would like to say "too bad. you s.u.c.k at business. better luck next time". It's not about doing whats lawful but rather by what's right.

You talk about content of character so how would it look for a new president to sit idly by while the auto industry lays off millions of people. He might of had a chance to do something but you know....we shouldn't help because "no one has a guarantee of a job". What a show of great character.

and color is not a barometer for choosing, only it's been used so long against it. Affirmative action only sought to alleviate the decades of denied upward mobility by minorities who were not just kept down by de jour but by de facto laws. They are white by law. We are not.
