Our culture hasn't changed.. It's the people that change. The Power of titles in samoa has shifted to material things. Money, Land, Name, Reputation(If it has any)etc.. The Ideals of our culture has shifted to Foriegn things. Samoa Never Had Money in the beginning and yet it has become the center of arguements.
I am proud to be a samoan(that intitles the ugle side, too) If i had the opportunity to recieve a title through the right channels with the blessing of my family, so be it.. recieving a title is appointed to someone who can keep the peace and cares for our tradition and culture.
Now... its about taking and not caring how it affects other families.. so don't be misguided about our culture. Its still the same. The people has changed..
